» PSU Teams to be Participating in the Trinity Compitition
» March 31st, 2010

The Penn State Robotics club will have multiple teams vying for the prize in the Trinity Firefighting Competition, a maze and object finding competition set as a way to test designs for fire prevention robots. The tabletop-sized competition is held each spring by Trinity College in Connecticut, where multiple colleges and robotics teams gather to see whose design can most efficiently navigate a maze in order to find a burning candle and extinguish it, optionally returning to their starting point afterward. This year, Penn State will have four teams competing:

Team Jazzy, a two person team consisting of Drew Schmitt and Richard Lichkus.
Team Plexo, made up of Jon Checkan, Jillian Newhall, Spenser Bauman, and Mohammed Alburaiki.
Team Zephyrus, run by Tom McCauley and Jon Frisch.
Team Twitcher 2.0, involving the duo Daniel Grandy and Joseph Gensel.

Good luck to our teams!

In other club news, we have published our 2010 Sponsorship Letter and 2010 Sponsorship Packet. The club is actively searching for sponsorship to help us pay for the costs associated with robotic competitions and upkeep of our club materials.
