Hey guys,

Our next extra meeting will be this Sunday, Feb. 5. It will be a repeat of yesterday’s (Wednesday’s) tutorial on sensors and wall following. Our next regular meeting is on Wednesday, Feb. 15. On that tutorial, we’ll get more in-depth with the programming of the Arduino, the logic behind the protoshield, soldering (if people are interested), and finalizing groups for the Trinity competition. After this tutorial, club meetings will involve free work on your robots until the competition. Remember that there is also the Freescale cup, if you would like to work toward that competition rather than the Trinity Firefighting Competition.

In other news, the phishing issue with our website has been resolved. Thanks to the guys over at DreamHost, who have stellar customer support!

» First Meeting
» January 19th, 2012

Thanks to everyone who showed up to the Spring 2012 Open House! We had a great turnout and some good discussion about what we’ll be doing this semester.

If you missed it, don’t worry! Our first meeting is next week, Wednesday the 25th. We’ll be going over the basics of how to get your robot moving. Alternatively, if you’ve already done all the tutorials in the past, you can get working on a robot for one of the competitions later in the spring. Hope to see you there!

Hey, hope everyone had a good winter break. We have high hopes for this semester! Projects we’ll be working on include fixing up Rambler, starting TRESH, working on robots for Trinty and organizing the Freescale Cup. The first meeting time has not been decided on, but we’ll keep you posted. Remember to sign up for our mailing list here to stay informed!

» Competition Decided On
» October 5th, 2011

Our last meeting, the members took a vote. Our competition for the fall semester will be: Botball, a soccer competition! We have not yet decided whether there will be multiple robots on the field, or only one at a time. On one hand, multiple robots makes for a more exciting competition, but on the other hand, it adds layers of difficulty.

In today’s meeting at 7:00PM, we will be finalizing groups for the fall competition and beginning free work on robots. Do whatever you need to do to get that first place prize! Good luck!

Thanks to all the people who showed up for the Robotics Open House last week!

Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 14. We will be doing a tutorial on locomotion – getting a robot moving. Hope you can make it.

As for Sunday meetings, please email the president to show your interest. If there won’t be many people coming on Sundays, then we won’t host general robotics meetings on those days (special groups may still meet, however).
